The Day After Action...........

Shell Damage from the Nurnberg

Battle Damage to the H.M.S. Kent

Battle Damage to the H.M.S. Kent

Some of these pictures are posted elsewhere but I thought the comments on the reverse of these photos by Midshipman Cowan would add interest.

Battle of the Falklands

Pictures from H.M.S. Kent WW 1

Penguins in the Falklands

This post card was sent from aboard the S.S. Edna ( H.M.S. Kent's prize ship) at Port Stanley, Falkland Islands, March 9th 1916. The Edna had been brought down from Peru and Midshipman Cowan was one of four officers that had charge of her.

HMS Kent visited Sierra Leone several times between 1914 and 1918..........these photos would have been taken during one of those visits.

Summer in the Straits of Magellan

These would have been taken on one of the Kent's visits to the area 1914 - 1917, possibly during her search for the Dresden.
